The calculation runs in your browser, and the dates you enter are not sent anywhere.
Working out the due date
Payment terms are usually counted in calendar days starting from the date on the invoice. For example, Net 30 on an invoice dated 1 March gives a due date of 31 March. Unless the contract states otherwise, weekends and holidays are counted like any other day.
Payment terms you will often see
- Due on receipt: the invoice is payable straight away, on its issue date.
- Net 7, Net 10, Net 15: payment is due 7, 10 or 15 days after the invoice date.
- Net 30: the customer pays within 30 days of the invoice date; it is a very common term.
- Net 45, Net 60, Net 90: payment is due 45, 60 or 90 days after the invoice date.
- EOM (end of month): payment is due on the last day of the month in which the invoice is dated.
- Net 30 EOM: payment is due 30 days after the end of the month in which the invoice is dated.
Businesses do not all use EOM terms in the same way; check what your agreement says.
Weekend due dates
When a due date falls on a weekend, some businesses use the next working day instead. Switch on the weekend option and a Saturday or Sunday due date moves to Monday.
